Derek Eder
Programmer
Derek joined Webitects as a developer in 2006. He spends most of his time working in .NET and jQuery and learning Ruby on the side. Derek graduated from Washington University in St Louis with a BS in Computer Engineering, which is a hybrid major made up of equal parts computer science and electrical engineering, with a little processor design sprinkled on top. While CPU design continues to fascinate him, he has decided to devote his efforts to the development of the Web and leave the stressful task of keeping up with Moore's Law to the rest of his engineering brethren.
Outside of work, Derek is involved in the Open Government movement in Chicago and has collaborated to create several open data transparency and search tools. He also enjoys biking around the flat streets of Chicago and playing bass, guitar and keyboards.
