Community Collab
Community Collab is an online social application supported by the MacArthur Foundation in LISC. It is targeted at community development professionals in the public, non-profit and philanthropic sectors that foster the collaborative formulation and spread of ideas among those involved in community development and related fields.
Members showcase their work or ideas and get feedback from fellow professionals.
A social application is more successful if it offers value to individual users and the entire community. Features valuable to Community Collab members include the ability to showcase their work or ideas and get feedback from fellow professionals; find people with whom they wish to collaborate; and view what others are involved with or interested in.
The software supporting this online community allows for high levels of personalization, allowing members to sort, filter, and arrange content, and track activity according to their own needs without imposing their preferences on others. This narrowcasting and personalization extends to Community Collab’s regular email updates, which are tailored to each member’s geographic location and field of work.
