Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. is an SEC registered investment advisor that was established in 1979 and which grew out of the Duff & Phelps investment research firm that dates back to 1932. Services include management of investment portfolios, including open- and closed-end funds investing in utilities and REITs (which have received 17 Lipper awards through 2007), and institutional separate accounts. Institutional clients include tax-exempt institutions, endowments and foundations, and taxable institutional accounts.
Webitects created a new visual design and information architecture and implemented the site using our content management system (CMS). Since Duff & Phelps is SEC regulated all website content must be carefully reviewed for legal and regulatory compliance. We adapted our content management system's workflow so that all new and edited content flows through a queue for compliance review and approval. Compliance officers are notified via e-mail when content is ready for their review and authors are similarly notified when their changes have been approved and published to the website.
The spark charts on the site's home page are implemented using the Google Charts API with data coming from an XML feed between internal Duff & Phelps systems and the website.
Webitects also designed and built microsites for the closed-end DNP Select Income fund (NYSE: DNP), DTF Tax-Free Income fund, and Utility and Corporate Bond Trust fund for which Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co is an advisor. The DNP site uses a CMS implementation with compliance workflow similar to that of the main site. Additional charts and graphs were implemented using Google Charts API and another charting tool. Some chart data is maintained through the CMS while other comes from a daily XML feed.
