Project story
National Association of Bond Lawyers
The National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) has approximately 3,000 members throughout the United States. NABL serves many needs including education of its members and others in the law relating to state and municipal bonds. NABL members and committees often establish standards and provide guidance for regulators and bond issuers.
Webitects conducted extensive research and analysis, interviewed stakeholders and members, and guided NABL through the development of a web strategy. We created wireframes to demonstrate early design ideas and functional work flows and storyboards to demonstrate visual design.
The site was implemented using Webitects' content management system (CMS) and integrates tightly with NABL's iMIS association management system (AMS). Single sign on is provided across the website, iMIS, and Webitects' customizable intranet.
Generic software, including association management systems, often suffer poor design and usability and lack flexibility to accommodate variance in requirements. Though some iMIS public views (off-the-shelf web interfaces) were employed, NABL chose to have Webitects create custom interfaces for high profile functions, like conference and workshop registration, to optimize usability. Our custom interfaces integrate with iMIS so that data flows seamlessly between systems.
The resulting website, launched in early 2010, includes several newsletters and publications, an extensive searchable document library, a searchable bond case brief database, and member only content and functionality. NABL is also using a customized version of Webitects' intranet allowing the board and committees to share documents, calendars, and simple directory and broadcast email functions.
