Project Story
Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers
The nearly 40-year old Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB) is an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS and the premier industry organization for brokers, owners, and managers. CRB helps real estate professionals through training and the provision of resources and awards the "CRB" designation.
Webitects created a new information architecture and fresh design to replace the previously outdated and static CRB website. We began with ethnographic research by interviewing CRB staff and members, analyzing existing site content and organizational goals, and developing a new site architecture that integrated our findings.
The new site employs Webitects user-friendly content management system, a site search powered by a Google Mini, and an interesting application of web 2.0 concepts to create a member-driven Knowledge Center where users post and tag resources to share with others (accessible to members only).
The content management system (CMS) is integrated with the front-end of the website. CMS users simply navigate to the page they wish to edit and choose edit options from a toolbar. The CMS supports the creation of page drafts and new web pages and enables CRB staff to edit more than 90% of the site's content.
The site also includes a dynamic test builder application allowing online tests to be created via Webitects content management system and administered online. Test scores, membership applications and renewals, and profile update data are shared in real-time with CRB's internal iMIS association management system (AMS). The website also draws up-to-date data from the AMS database so that the membership directory, site authentication, and other data-driven web functions remain in synch.
