Project Story
Chicago Cooks
ChicagoCooks.com was created to be a complete online resource for all things food and wine around Chicago. Users post personal chefs, markets, wine tastings, cooking classes, and other culinary events and venues which are then rated and commented on.
All content, including users, are tagged so that people, places, and events matching your interests can be easily identified. The site's "foodie watch" allows users to create a circle of friends. Once connected, friends see each other's postings, comments, and ratings on their "foodie watch" page and can be notified when friends post something new. RSS feeds allow tech-savvy foodies to stay abreast of site activity through their favorite feed reader.
Inappropriate postings can be flagged by users (which triggers review by ChicagoCooks.com staff) for removal or editorial review.
The site employs Google Maps to provide location information. The site is supported by ad revenue (Google AdSense) with future plans to add enhanced business owner listings for an annual fee.
ChicagoCooks.com is a great venue to share your culinary knowledge, connect with other foodies, and promote your culinary products or services.
