PowerMediaPlus from Discovery Education
PowerMediaPlus provides access to thousands of educational multimedia items. These include video-on-demand, audio, photographs, illustrations, clip art, and print resources, including standards-based learning objectives.
The website offers educators with an effective way to present materials to students in an engaging and entertaining way. Features include:
- Smart search. A state-of-the-art search-and-retrieval system makes it easy to find multimedia across all formats.
- Playlists. Playlists can be created with video and/or audio and can be shared with others or assigned to classes.
- Download manager. A download manager coordinates overnight downloads to central client servers.
- Censorhip. Administrators can censor video and audio files.
- Custom content. Locally licensed content can be imported and automatically included in the search and browse.
- Image library. Users are encouraged to use these high-resolution, education-based images on worksheets, activities, or in presentations.
- State correlations. Correlations to 94 sets of state and national learning standards and tests, detailed to the strand level.
- Reporting. Generate content and usage reports to track system use.
- Unlimited administrator levels. The website is flexible enough to support any kind of school system and allows unlimited administrator levels of control.
