Project Story
This site for The Art Institute of Chicago store includes a sophisticated design, a simple user interface, ecommerce programming, and an XML interface with the fulfillment house.
It was developed on an extremely tight seven week schedule, including analysis, design, and programming, and came online in time for a large catalog mailing. Traffic and sales have been very good. The percentage of visitors who buy something is very high and the number of abandoned shopping totes very low.
A complete content management system allows Art Institute personnel to add products (currently about 700), edit descriptions and prices, assign items to categories, and assign representative images to each category.
Reports include total sales, order details, terms searched for, products which are missing information, and more.
